Door Limiting and Friction Stay Stainless Steel
Heavy friction stay stainless steel for complete protection in high corrosion environments i.e. coastal areas, marine applications, food industry etc. Fitted to control the speed of opening and closing a door, it should not be used as a door stop or a door holder. Measures 9in (229mm) from centre to centre of arm. Fitting the stay with 65mm spacing from the hinge axis will give an opening angle of approximately 90 degrees. You can decrease this spacing to give greater angles of 95-100 degrees or increase to restrict the door opening to approximately 80-85 degrees. Friction is achieved by adjusting the hexagonal bolt accordingly.
The friction box is fitted to the underside of the door frame. The short side of the box plate 54mm from the vertical frame on the hinged side of the door. The long side of the box plate is positioned to be just clear of the face of the door when closed. For maximum movement the angle plate is fitted to the door towards the hinge side. For restricted movement the angle plate is fitted away from the hinge side to the required position. Friction is adjusted by means of the nut and spring washer.
