Anodised Aluminium

A hard corrosion resistant film on the surface of aluminium and it’s alloys usually opaque grey in colour but can also be dyed with a variety of tints. The most popular types are Satin Anodised Aluminium often abreviated to SAA and Polished Anodised Aluminium often abreviated to PAA. As the name implies the former has a matt satin or dull finish and the latter a polished and shiney finish. The image below shows a polished (PAA) pull handle and a satin (SAA) hat and coat hook.
