Antique Brass
Typically a dark “old brass” finish with lighter patches but also used to describe antique style products made of brass. The darkened "aged brass" finish is achieved by polishing a brass item before applying a bronze patina over the surface. Some of this is then gently brushed off to expose the brass below. Antique brass products are usually finished with a clear lacquer protective coating and should be cleaned using a non abrasive cloth. Below is an image of a darkened antique coated brass door knob as well as a polished brass antique style letter plate.
