They are called multipoint because instead of having either a mortice deadlock or sashlock in the centre of the door, a multipoint lock runs from the top to the bottom of the door and has multiple locking bolts at a series of points along the length of the lock. When a multipoint handle is lifted upwards, it engages all of the locking bolts in the multipoint lock.
These multipoint and Upvc door handles are available in standard or a security versions which have been PAS 24 security tested.
